The Laboratory of Analytical Control (LAC) is accredited for technical competence by the Association of Analytical Centers “Analytika” (international accreditation).
The scope of accreditation includes rocks and ores of various compositions and genesis, products of their processing and enrichment, platinum metal concentrates, industrial products with a high content of precious metals, metal samples, their oxides and salts.
The availability of modern equipment and highly qualified personnel makes it possible to conduct research into the chemical composition of various products in a wide concentration range – from 0.001 g/t to 100%.
Analytical laboratory servicesTO PERFORM QUANTITATIVE CHEMICAL ANALYSIS, ANALYTICAL LABORATORY USES THE MOST MODERN EQUIPMENT
- Agilent 7700x inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer.
- ICAP 6300 Radial and Agilent 5110 SVDV inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometers
- Electrothermal and flame atomic absorption spectrometer iCE 3500
- Infrared spectrometer SC144DR
- Weighing equipment of "Mettler Toledo" and "Sartorius" companies
- Muffle and crucible furnaces for fire assaying tests
To determine precious metals in rocks, ores, catalysts, tar, coal, in the products of technological processing analytical laboratory using assay collection in the lead-silver bead, nickel or copper-nickel matte.
Analytical laboratory actively participates in interlaboratory comparative tests, certification of standard samples, performs external geological control, develops methods of quantitative chemical analysis. It cooperates with such organizations as MMC Norilsk Nickel, Geoprominvest, RAC MIA, Gipronickel Institute, VIMS, VNIIM named after D.I. Mendeleev, Minstandard Scientific and Technical Center, Irgiredmet, Regis, NMP and others.
Analytical laboratory staff conduct internships and master classes in various areas and according to programs developed together with the customer, develop and optimize analysis techniques, participate in the preparation and conduct of seminars, webinars and conferences.
The analytical laboratory provides methodological assistance and analytical services to outsource organizations to perform quantitative chemical analysis of more than 60 components in various products on a fee basis.
Analytical laboratory servicesANALYTICAL EQUIPMENT AND INSTRUMENTS
Sulfur and carbon analyzer SC144DR
Measuring of total sulfur, total and organic carbon. A method for determining graphite in rocks and ores of different compositions was developed.
- measurement range of sulfur from 5 ppm to 25%;
- carbon measurement range from 5 ppm to 100%;
- sample weight up to 350 mg;
A furnace with temperatures up to 1450 °C ensures complete burning of the sample.
Agilent 7700x Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer
Used for geochemical analysis of rocks, ores and products of their processing (determination of more than 60 elements, including precious and rare earth metals), determination of impurities in pure substances (refined metals: gold, platinum, palladium) and other tasks.
- radio frequency generator with frequency matching, insensitive to highly volatile organic solvents;
- ion lens design guarantees high sensitivity and low background;
- third generation octopole reaction cell (ORS3) even more effectively removes polyatomic interferences;
- the dynamic range of the detector is nine orders of magnitude – from the detection limit to 500 ppm. The Model 7700 with HMI System handles samples containing high concentrations of matrix components (up to 3%) that previously required dilution or ICP-OES analysis.
Agilent 5110 SVDV Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometer
Automatic analysis of any type of sample in the concentration range from 10-6% to 100%. Preliminary preparation (acid dissolution, fusion, sintering following the procedure).
To solve non-trivial analytical problems (solutions containing hydrofluoric acid, highly and slightly volatile solvents and samples with a high salt content) several special sample injection systems are provided.
The SVDV configuration allows simultaneous axial and radial plasma analysis. This ensures good sensitivity at low element concentrations in the samples and at the same time solves the problem of analyzing samples of complex composition with high element concentrations.
The spectrometer covers the spectral range from 167 to 758 nm.
